A Journey Through Hardwick Old Hall

In order to respond to the research question, you will explore and investigate one of the most innovative houses of the Tudor period, Hardwick Old Hall.

You will analyse the relationship between the ruins of the standing building and its surroundings, and you will develop your understanding of contemporary culture and the conservation of ruins. Working with a building that has lost its natural defences (roof, windows, plaster, etc) you will design an intervention that enables visitors to explore and examine an intricate piece of stonework or plasterwork.
